7p block designs

7 Patch Puzzle 17, 18 from Virtual Quilter

Seven patch blocks set on point make some very intriguing designs.

Of all the pieced blocks I have found these have got to be the most interesting, but if you decide to make one you need a really good day after a good nights sleep, with no interruptions, and plenty of coffee, not just when piecing teh blocks, but when you are putting the blocks together.

Simple layout … but I love the effect!

I like the second design, but compared to the first one it is rather ugly.

7 Patch Playtime 9, 10 from Virtual Quilter

If I make another all pieced quilt I want it to be as interesting as the design above … however I usually try to mix some applique into every quilt I make.

I would definitely replace some of the blocks in the second design with either applique, or blank spaces to be quilted.

Stars on Tatiara Terrace 21, 22 from Virtual Quilter

Could have called this project file Field of Green, though considering that all the blocks are stars it should have been bright white and yellow in colour.

Lots of stars, and all on the same background star.

Love all of the second design … the darker background makes the centre stand out much more.

Stars on Tatiara Terrace 17, 18 from Virtual Quilter

Yesterday the designs were red and white applique, today they are green pieced.

The design above is my favourite today.

Today there are areas that quilting could be added, yesterday the quilting designs I would use are there.

7 Patch Playtime 5, 6 from Virtual Quilter

Springtime colours, including a little bit of gold as crops ripen. Only thing missing are the spring flowers.

I like both of these designs … no favourite.
